There's mountains in my soul, but Lakeland has stolen my heart. I live here with my husband Nick, our two kids Roland and Ramona, and our dog Skip. We couldn't ask for a better place to plant our little family. I'm from the mountains of NC, where I first fell in love with the arts, rain, and a small town feel. I grew up focusing on theater, from there to small business management and visual merchendising, then to studio arts and graphic design.
Finally I settled into a role of wife and mom, using my experince to freelance in a mirad of areas. In this time I was slowly liberated to truely pursue art, just for the sake of art itself, without the need to generate income from it, or to make it meet the standard society is always puhsing on us. I felt an internal war, one to work toward what is considered practical, and the other just to chase beauty and inspiration. It has almost become a challenge now, to forgo the thing that feels like what I "ought" to do to instead lean into my faith in my Creator, and follow the calling He has placed in my heart.
I see opportunity to reveal beauty everywhere I look. And it is my hope that I can do so alongside people who are also chasing the calling in their hearts.
